Cherry is elegant, prestigious, stately. The presence of cherry in a home or office setting imparts feelings of elegance and exclusivity.

It is easy to machine, nails and glues well and when sanded and stained, it produces an excellent smooth finish. It dries fairly quickly with moderately high shrinkage, but is dimensionally stable after kiln-drying.

  • Colour: Sapwood is white to light yellowish cream. Heartwood varies from rich/deep red to reddish brown.

  • Texture: Close texture. The heartwood grain and color imparts feeling of elegance and exclusivity.

  • Physical Properties: Very stable, medium to low shock-resistance.

  • Applications: High-end fine furniture and cabinet making, mouldings and millwork, kitchen cabinets, paneling, flooring, doors, boat interiors, musical instruments, turnings and carvings. Good availability in 4/4 through 8/4 thickness.
